The Wind that Wanders

To wander is to be alive.

The bus stops to drop-off a passenger.
My co-passenger, a lady asks me to accompany her to the driver as she thought it’s a recession. By the time I put on my floaters and jacket and reached the front of the bus she had already went out. I realised it was just roadside. I chitchatted with the driver and conductor and stood at the entrance waiting for her. Just in two minutes, there were two three men, wanting to go out as well. The bus crew stopped them – ” do minute ruko, ladies gayi hei(wait two minutes, ladies had gone)” ..
So another co-passenger wittily commented to his friend, — “is liye toh hum bhi ja rahe he(that’s why we are also going”) .. and the queue became longer, so finally the driver said, “aap log aage jao, peeche ladies hei” first few went forward, and everyone went towards where that lady passenger went.
After sometime, she came back, dissatisfied, ashamed…
Asked me why didn’t I join. I just smiled, helplessly. And looked at the bus crew, they also seemed helpless!
