My co-passenger is still upset about the toilet incident. Was observing me curiously while I was applying my nail polish. Once I was done, she held my hand and looked at it, said- ” nallaiyirukken..ithellaam bombayilnth kedachatha?? (“Beautiful it is. You got all these from Bombay?”
I replied , in my broken Tamil “ellayidathum kedakkum” ( we get it every where.
In a doubtful tone, she continued – ‘aah, kedykkum, aana intha coloru- (yes , but this color..) I interrupted and said “intha color- color of protest” (this colour – it’s the color of protest(for me), i didn’t know how to say that in Tamil..
But asked her if she wants it, reluctantly she said, it may not suit. However she apllied it(or rather i apllied it on her nails)
Once done , I asked if I could click a photo. She nodded her head.
Showing her the photo, I said, “namma ellaarum same thaan” ( we are all same)..
She didn’t bother much I think, laid back, but was careful with the color on her nail which was yet to dry…
